Preserving Culture, Promoting Unity, Celebrating Life

Who We Are

The Shantigram Bengali Cultural Association (SBCA) is a community-led initiative formed by the Bengali residents of Shantigram, Ahmedabad. We strive to bring our rich cultural heritage from Bengal to Gujarat, through our festivals, traditions, and celebrations. United by a common love for our customs, we aim to create an inclusive environment where every Bengali feels at home, no matter how far from Kolkata.

Our Vision

To foster a sense of belonging and unity among Bengalis living in Shantigram by preserving and promoting our rich cultural legacy. We celebrate festivals with grandeur, ensuring that the essence of Bengal resonates through every event. Our values are rooted in diversity, harmony, and the spirit of celebration.

What We Do

Every year, SBCA organizes a host of cultural and religious events, from the grandeur of Durga Puja, with its intricate idols and traditional rituals, to the simplicity of Saraswati Puja, where knowledge is revered. Our events also include Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year), Laxmi Puja, and our eagerly awaited Winter Picnic. We strive to recreate the warmth and festivity that Bengalis are known for, making Shantigram feel like a home away from home.

Durga Puja – Our Heartbeat

Durga Puja is the highlight of the year for the SBCA. From the installation of the idol to the immersive rituals and cultural performances, we bring the grandeur of Kolkata’s pujo to Shantigram. Over five days, our community comes together to celebrate the victory of good over evil, with traditional dhak beats, authentic Bengali bhog, and a variety of performances by local artists and children. The event is a testament to our collective spirit and unity.

Our Four Pillars

Diversity, Inclusion, Harmony, and Celebration are the core principles of SBCA. We believe that cultural pride should bring people together, regardless of background. We aim to create a space where everyone can celebrate the beauty of our traditions.

Our Governing Body

The SBCA is managed by an elected Association of Persons (AOP), a group of dedicated individuals who represent the collective voice of our community. From planning events to managing funds, they ensure that every detail is perfect, every festival is magical, and every person feels included.
